Rare all bisque “ nodder-type “ figure with head separately strung to body and swivels ( does not actually “ nod “ ). He stands 3 ½” ( 9cm ) tall to top of felt hat and is incised “ GERMANY “ in middle of back ( most likely produced by Hertwig ). The boy with protruding tummy is dressed ( molded and painted ) in pale blue overall to the knee elevated by res suspenders, and with white socks and shoes and a red felt ( actual cloth ) pointed cap. The fascinating peculiarity of this doll is that one side of the head is painted white, the other side black, so as the head is swiveled it becomes a “ multi-head/face “ doll and the hat can drop down to obscure the reverse side of the face facing backward. Rare things do not always come in big packages or at high prices and this little gem deserves the respect he is warranted !…….SOLD.
