Charming 5” ( 12cm ) tall ( seated ) all bisque figure of a young black child with head tilted to the right with eyes looking up and legs crossed with the right leg extended outwards revealing bare feet . At first glance one might assume this is a boy but the costume looks more like a girl’s dress but pulled up and gathered at knee length. Clutched under her right hand is an open container perhaps originally meant to use as a candy container for a special event/holiday but due to the oblique modeling but being aware of the times the figure was made more than likely meant to resemble a watermelon. The entire figure though is expertly and realistically rendered from the detail of the hair to the smile to the extended leg with detailed toes all the way to the costume with pink skirt, white blouse, and pale yellow neck scarf. No identifying manufacturer’s marks found and although light weight and of “ Heubach quality “ more than likely made by Hertwig, also a prolific maker of bisque novelty items and often underestimated in the hierarchy of bisque/porcelain manufacturers…US$ 225.

10” ( 25cm ) Gebruder Heubach smiling boy standing in a wash tub with side spout and wearing aqua/turquoise pants and stamped with an incised GH “ fan “ logo under the base. This smiling fellow with intaglio blue eyes glancing to the left has exquisite overall realistic modeling revealing great detail especially in the hair, dimples in the cheeks, fingers and toes, and also replicating the prevalence of “baby fat” found on a child of this developing age. Condition is very good with only one small incident of a firing separation across the left ankle. ……RESERVED.

5 ½” ( 14cm )tall ( seated ) all bisque German figure of a young girl, elaborately dress with pink sunbonnet, a blue and white dress with floral trim, orange scarf, and seated alongside a yellow painted textured “ wicker basket “ with a kitten perched in front looking outward with front legs overhanging the basket while the slightly more mature tabby cat is being held on her back and with her four legs outstretched in the arms of her mistress. No markings found but indeed of good quality with a popular subject matter!……………US$ 225.

Large ( 8”, 20cm from bottom of base to top of shell ) and heavy all bisque well modeled and painted figure of two young children seated in an open shell with the blond child’s arms wrapped around the slightly younger’s child shoulder supporting him/her while napping. The modeling of the entire figure is extremely detailed and complex from the various painting and three- dimensional renditions to the extended and unique positions of all four feet/legs of the children to the modeling of all four arms and hands likewise. Underneath the shell deep inside the second layer of detail is a blue manufacturers stamp of a German company but we are unable to identify but typical in style and themes of those from about 1890-1920. No damage or repairs found, only two short firing separations on very edge of bottom base……US$ 195.

6” ( 15cm ) Gebruder Heubach standing boy waiting to take his bath clutching his belly at waist level and wearing aqua/turquoise underwear and seemingly pleased with himself. There is an incised GH incised “ fan” logo underneath the base and no damage is found, only a minuscule firing in the crease of his right arm at the elbow…….US$ 165.
