Always popular Kammer and Reinhardt character " Gretchen ", this attractive example is incised " K&*R 114  46 " , stands 18" ( 46 cm ) tall,  and is on the original fully articulated pink German wood and composition body with original finish. She has molded and painted facial features, blue eyes, the distinctive " pouty " expression with full lips and wistful expression. The costume is an attractive white cotton ribbed two piece outfit with pale blue trim and white braid applications in a 1910 era quasi-mariner style. The wig is antique full brown mohair with side part, and the shoes are two- tone brown and black antique canvas impressed "4" on the cardboard soles. The wide brimmed straw hat with cloth flowers is probably not quite as old as the doll but nevertheless attractive and well- coordinated to the costume. Like most K&R painted eyed characters she has some typical wig pulls but they are entirely concealed with wig in place and do not distract from her lovely appearance and superlative facial modeling...........US$ 2,950.

Wonderful model of the Kammer and Reinhardt " Mein Liebling ", 25" tall, with head incised " K&*R  Simon & Halbig 117  66 " with brown glass sleep eyes, closed mouth, painted upper and lower lashes , multi-stroke eyebrows, on the original fully jointed chunky wood and composition body with overall excellent original patina, with just some minor paint wear on a few fingers. She wears her original light brown mohair curly wig with two original red silk bows, an antique blue and white linen two piece sailor -type costume with a red silk ribbon tie, circa 1910, antique undergarments, antique black leather shoes, and black knit stockings. It is unclear if the costume is a factory issued one, but if not, it is most certainly " mother made " of antique fabrics in the period. The bisque quality is very good with nice even coloring with a softly painted mouth. A beautiful example at a reasonable.....................US$ 3,650.

12" ( 31cm ) example of the always popular Gebruder Heubach "Pouty " closed mouth character, this one incised " 6970, Germany 4 " with blue glass sleep eyes, well painted lashes and multi-stroke brows, on the original fully jointed pink German wood and composition body with clean original patina. She wears an original dark mohair wig with red ribbon, an antique white cotton and embroidered dress with long tan and green trimmed felt apron and scarf, as well as an antique wide brimmed straw hat with red wool pompoms, perhaps a traditional folk costume from a European mountainous region. A near pristine doll in nice cabinet size!..................................................US$ 850.

Beautiful and rare open mouth version of the Kammer and Reinhardt " Mein Liebling " incised " K&*R Simon & Halbig 117 70 ", 27 1/2" ( 70 cm ) tall, with brown glass sleep eyes, painted upper and lower lashes, multi-stroke lashes, pointy nose, open mouth with four upper porcelain teeth, pouty upper lip, and deep dimple in the chin. She is on the original pinkish-yellowy wood and composition fully jointed body with excellent original finish, and wears a fantastic original mousy blond mohair wig with side part and original silk pink bow, a pink cotton and lace trimmed dress ( some color fading ), antique underwear, antique pink silk stockings, elaborate original white leather shoes with buckles, as well as a beautiful antique straw hat with pink cloth bows in shape of flowers. This mold is actually quite rare, much more so than the closed mouth 117's, and is much earlier and has totally different facial modeling than the more commonly seen " 117n's " that are primarily from the 1920's, often with flirty eyes on the so-called " teenage ", or " high knee ' bodies.  A beautiful all original doll that would be a nice " comparison companion " for your closed mouth 117! .................................................................US$ 2,850.

Often collectors can tend to automatically dismiss a doll when they hear it is an " AM " but the quality of this doll ( as are many other of those AM characters who bear no model identifying numbers ) shows that misconception is often not warranted and AM characters can be some of the most appealing and equal many of those from their more higher rated competitor manufacturers. This handsome boy is incised " Germany 550   A.4.M. DRGM" and has brown glass sleep eyes, and closed smiling mouth with dimples in cheeks and ( double ) chin, is on a good quality fully articulated German wood and composition body with original patina, and wears a two piece cotton and linen boys suit with white leather boots and an antique reddish-( auburn) mohair wig. In addition, he has a red competition ribbon from 1987 at the well- respected DCA ( Doll Collectors of America ) competition and convention. A great doll offered at only .............................US$ 1,750.
