one first looks at this appealing 20 " ( 51 cm ) SFBJ toddler child
one would assume one knows what it is but after looking harder and perhaps
after scratching one's head after asking oneself if it is a 252, or maybe
a 251, a 247 Twerp, and then deciding one cannot identify with 100%
certainty, at that point one removes the wig and sees the the head is
incised " 25 FRANCE SFBJ 262 PARIS 10 ",
indeed a very very rare model and unless the person is one of the
lucky ones who " has ( or at last seen ) just about everything "
it is unlikely to be as common as one initially thought at first glance.
She has good bisque with even facial painting, blue glass sleep eyes,
painted lower lashes and remnants of silk uppers, a nearly heart-shaped
mouth with pouting upper lip, two upper teeth , a separately molded
tongue, and is mounted on the original plump French wood and composition
toddler body with diagonal hip joints bearing the original patina in very
good overall condition with only a few typical paint flakes as to be
expected. Her only garment is an antique white cotton and lace one piece
short toddler chemise with inserted silk ribbon. The wig is antique blond
mohair with left side part. If one enjoys "completing a series "
of any character type of dolls this is a seldom found rare opportunity to
get that " one last missing number " in the SFBJ lot. And by the
way , she is not only different, but a nice quality doll in her own right!
