17" (43 cm ) shy faced late 1880's period bebe with incised markings " DEPOSE JUMEAU 7 ", on back of head and a blue stamp on back of torso reading " JUMEAU MEDAILLE D'OR PARIS ".  According to many " doll historians " this so-called " Incised Depose " Jumeau was made for a very short period of time , following the " Depose EJ " period ( with perhaps a slight overlap ) and the advent of the so-called " Tete Jumeau " series. One notable feature that perhaps supports that theory is that the " Incised Depose " model is the last of the Jumeaux with " pressed bisque " heads whereas the " Tete Jumeaux " were the first using the " poured bisque " technique. This sweet child has relatively pale yet somewhat rosy complexion with blue paperweight eyes in somewhat narrow but characteristically identifiable smaller eye cuts, closed mouth with slight white space between the lips, pierced earlobes, and well painted tiny lashes and nice brows.  The head is attached by a coil spring to the original fully jointed wood and composition body with straight wrists and original patina , with just a few fingertips retouched. She is nicely attired in an antique blond mohair wig with bangs over a cork pate, a wonderfully made pink silk and ecru lace costume with matching hat, antique brown leather shoes with cardboard soles, and old knit socks. ..............US$ 4,250.

Very pretty 19" ( 48cm ) classic Jumeau bebe with head stamped in red " DEPOSE TETE JUMEAU 8 "  and body stamped in blue on back of torso " BEBE JUMEAU ". She has smooth, relatively pale bisque for this period of Jumeau with bulbous light brown paperweight eyes, well painted lashes and eyebrows, pierced earlobes, and is connected to the original body by a coil spring. Naturally the wood and composition body is fully articulated and bears overall fine original finish with only a few paint flecks with most of those few on fingers which is most typical. ( There is a slight firing flaw in the mold seam at the very right bottom near neck socket but is in the making and not a damage ). She wears her wonderful original French red mohair wig over cork pate, her original brown leather Jumeau shoes stamped on soles " DEPOSE 8 PARIS " and also with the well- known " bee " logo. Under the period light brown wool coat is a simple pale rose cotton chemise-style dress, and antique white cotton undergarments. The woven straw bonnet with remnants of a few pale pink silk ribbons is a known and recognized factory Jumeau item. A very nice doll of excellent quality with several important original items still present. .......US$ 3,200.

Pretty 27" ( 69 cm ) closed mouth bebe with red stamp of back of head " DEPOSE TETE JUMEAU Bte. S.G.D.G.   12 " , lovely large clear brown paperweight eyes, evenly arched multi-stroke eyebrows with nice lashes, smooth peaches and cream complexion, well modeled and painted lips, pierced earlobes with blue and white bead earrings. The head is attached by a coil spring to the original fully jointed French wood and composition jointed body ( no markings found ) with mostly original finish with only minor spots of paint retouch ( leg stringing slightly loose ). She is elaborately costumed in a two piece heavy midnight blue velvet and black bead trim design, an antique blond mohair wig over cork pate, a spectacular bonnet made of plum velvet and floral embroidered wide ribbons, and nice antique brown leather shoes with cloth rosettes and stamped on the leather soles " 12 C.C.( within an oval )". The blue velvet material of the dress is so dark it must be viewed in bright light as not to appear to be black. A classic bebe in an impressionable size at the modest price of only.....................US$ 3,250.

Pretty 16" ( 41 cm ) French closed mouth bebe with head stamped in back in red "DEPOSE TETE JUMEAU 6 ", attached by a coil spring to the original fully jointed wood and composition body stamped in blue " JUMEAU MEDAILLE D'OR PARIS ". Although finish appears to be mostly original it has the flat finish ( " scrubbed " ) whereas the glossy varnish is either worn away or has been taken off over her many years. She has a nice antique blond mohair wig with side part covering a cork pate, a lovely antique white ribbed cotton and blue braid trim two piece mariner costume, antique socks and antique olive canvas shoes impressed on the soles " PARIS DEPOSE 6 " ( with the " bee " logo ), old undergarments and a blue cotton cap coordinated to the dress. The blown glass brown eyes are stunning, facial coloring even as are the eyebrows, lashes, and mouth. Dangling from her pierced earlobes are one bead magenta earrings.
